BK BIO

I’ve been listening to music and writing nearly all my life. I remember my very first Rock LP, it was Iron Butterfly’s “Heavy”.  I didn’t know what they sounded like but I absolutely loved their album cover!!  From there it was nothing but Classic Rock for the longest time.  That was 1970 and now I write lyrics for almost every genre of music there is.

My first lyric was penned in 1975, on a paper bag as I recall.  It was for a girl, and she loved it!!  Back then I worried incessantly about copyrights and someone stealing my precious poetry.  Someone told me to put my originals into an envelope, seal it and mail it to myself to prove it was mine, just in case.  So I eventually ended up with a desk drawer full of sealed envelopes all safe and secure.

In 1980 I joined up with a couple of close friends and we decided to start a band.  We called it Valleywood, after the name of the street where I lived in Wheaton, MD.  I played Harmonica and tried to sing a little, my friend Tommy played Acoustic Guitar and sang and Colleen was learning to play Lead Guitar.  Although we never made it past the Basement Band phase, it was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding times in my life!!

Now I collaborate with a group of extremely talented artists from around the world.  I write at least 3 or 4 lyrics per month, sometimes more, and submit them to a hand full of vocalists and musicians who I work with regularly.  David Young and Markus Palsson of Skuve have produced over 50 songs using my words and we are still going strong!!  Another wonderful guitarist / vocalist and Sound Engineer I work with is Mark Alan Dooley out of Louisiana.  Mark and I have created some very unique and soul-stirring music together!  One of the most talented artists / Singer-Songwriter's I have ever had the pleasure of working with is Mr. Ron Humphrey from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  He creates some very unique and Rock Solid Country Soule sounds on his guitars and Vocals.

I hope you’ll have a listen to some of my collaborations here and
